2024 Updates to Shopify Pricing Plans
Shopify, like many ecommerce platform vendors, regularly updates its pricing structure and plans, so it’s important to stay up to date with how the packages evolve.
On January 24th, 2024, Shopify added new features to the Starter, Retail (POS), Basic, Shopify, and Advanced plans.
Notably, the changes only affect new merchants. If you’re already signed up for Shopify, your plan won’t change unless you change your subscription. Some of the key changes to know include:
- The $1 trial plan will now last 30 days (instead of 90). If you’re starting your Shopify store, you can still take advantage of the free plan, but soon the trial will only last 30 days, instead of the three months you could access before.
- All plans now have access to 60+ reports, including marketing, sales, and profit reports. Previously, the Starter and Basic plans didn’t offer certain reports, but now you can access insights for optimization on all account levels.
- The Starter and Basic plans now include no extra staff accounts. Previously, however, you could add 2 additional staff members to your store. Now you’ll need a Shopify plan to access 5 accounts, or an Advanced plan for 15.
- The number of custom markets has been reduced to 3 for regional customization. If you need to access more region add-ons, you’ll need the Advanced plan, plus you’ll have to pay an extra $59 per month for each region.
- The Advanced plan now comes with enhanced (prioritized) chat support with front of queue routing for quicker responses to your questions.
